Minooka South High School, a 279,000 square foot freshman-sophomore facility featuring a total of 83 classrooms, was completed in 2008 and designed to accommodate 2000 students. The facility includes a 32,000 square foot competition gymnasium wing with locker rooms, a full service kitchen with cafeteria and a 16,000 square foot administration area.

Indoor VAV air handling units with air to air heat recovery supply air to the facility. The AHU’s are served by two 480 ton water cooled chillers and two 17,000 MBH hot water boilers, both relying on primary-secondary pumping for increased energy efficiency. Variable speed domestic water booster pump system efficiently maintains the required water pressure.

The electrical design included a lightening protection system and the low voltage design included a video retrieval system.
